:: APBL Event #1 :: May 20, 2008

The Aggression kiddies kept true to the Aggression banner and went 3-0-0 this past weekend in Kentville. It rained through the entire event but seemed to let up a bit for our games.

We played the Woodstock Mystic Warriors in our first game. In the second point Woodstock took a three minute major and we capitalized taking control of the game. They scored one point in mid game when one of our guns went down, but we didn't let that effect us and we scored every point after. 7-1 Final.

The second game was against Evolution Blue we went point for point in the first six points leaving us in a 3-3 tie, then Evo took a one minute minor penalty. We gained momentum and scored four straight points. We ended the game with a score of 7-3.

The last game was versus Animosity and we started off with three straight points. Then Animosity scored due to a mental error by everyones favorite player getting shot up under the X. Animosity then took a 3 minute penalty, and we took the game from them. 7-1 Final.

We would like to thank the following; Mark Cleghorn and his reffing squad for reffing a great day of ball, and letting us play our last game even though they were cold, wet and tired. Planet Eclipse for making sweet markers that still shoot darts that break on a hair in heavy rain. Storm Warning Paintball for putting out an awesome field, and serving awesome paint. Don and Alan for starting a legitimate league in Atlantic Canada and, JD, Jim Hackett and Natalie Duchine, for coaching, pod picking and pod filling respectively.

Sandy "CW"

:: MXL Event #1 :: May 10, 2008

On Friday afternoon, May 9th the Aggression vans packed up and headed for Paintball Mirabel, just north of Montreal. For those who haven’t been there let me just say the eight hour drive was well worth it. Amazing facility, it includes fully turfed x-ball field, full pits, digital score boards, professional referee staff and bleachers. The whole 9 yards. Other fields should strive to be like Mirabel.

Event one saw us play two matches. Our first was against Grand-Mere Daytona; they have been running in the middle of the pack since the inception of the MXL. We swapped point after point; it was pretty even for almost the whole match. With little time left in the second half we took a 5-minute major which almost did us in. With some quick line changes and new game plan from our coaching staff we went out and scored two short handed points with only four players on the field. After the points we went out and locked down the field and played smart paintball and coasted the remaining time with our lead. Final score was 9-8 for the Aggression win.

Our second match up was against Trois-Rivieres Public Enemies; this team is none other then Mirabel Impact's feeder team so needless to say we had our work cut out for us. The first half saw us not being able to come up with the right answer against one of the power house MXL teams, it was two to five in the favor of Trois-Riviere at the half. During half time we re-thought out our plan of attack and shut the snake side down. We dominated the second half with seven unanswered points. The last thirty four seconds of the game saw Trios-Riviere hang the flag for a last ditch point. Our game ended in a 9-6 Aggression win.

I would like to thank Louie, and the rest of the CXBL staff and Paintball Mirabel for putting on a top-notch event. The whole Aggression squad is looking forward to the rest of the season.

We have seven weeks till our next event in Ontario. With consistent practice we will be a whole new team and ready for the other MXL franchises. We set out this year to show the CXBL there is talent here in the Maritimes and this weekend opened some people’s eyes. See everyone in Kingston.

Holla,
Bryan

:: Fredericton = Ville-Marie? A Pre Season Update :: March 27, 2008

Hello to all our fans and Visitors
It has been a long winter here in Fredericton and everyone is impatiently waiting for this snow to melt to get some practice in. I believe it is time for an update on what sort of happenings happened over the course of this freakishly long cold season.

TV
To start we would like to thank Kirk Pennell and Rogers Television for making such a great show following us around last season. It turned out great and we had a lot of fun acting fools for the camera. On the same note we are patiently waiting for the release of the full series on DVD with a date yet to be solidified we are anticipating it to be soon. So if you would like to receive a copy of the DVD contact me at: harv.alex@gmail.com

MXL
Further development over the off season involves the Fredericton Aggression purchase of an MXL (Minor Extreme Paintball League) franchise for the 2008 season. The MXL is a step down from Canada’s most prestigious league the CXBL (Canadian Extreme Paintball League). We are tremendously excited to have been able to make the move to this league as it will provide a great opportunity for the improvement of the team. For this season we will be known as Ville-Marie Aggression due to franchise purchasing rights, and we will also be wearing blue & white MXL issued jerseys instead of our usual Aggression Red.

Our MXL event schedule can be found here: http://www.cxbl.ca/2008/events.php?lid=4
And for more on the MXL and CXBL check out: http://www.cxbl.ca/2008/

To compete in the MXL we have also brought some new talent on board from the Maritimes. To see our new roster check it out here. We would like to welcome all the new players to the team; this should be an exciting season for all of us!

APBL
A new league has also risen to attempt to warm the east coast tournament blues. The APBL (Atlantic Paintball League) will be run in a similar manor to an x-ball and x-ball lite style affording some interesting opportunities for many new and experienced teams. This year the APBL is where the Aggression Kids can be found. Looking forward to a great season of performance and learning. The new player roster for the Kids can be found here.

AXBL
We are pleased to announce that the AXBL league will have it’s very own dedicated referee crew, us! For the 2008 season most of the MXL team has been contracted by the AXBL to professionally ref the league for all events for the 2008 season. We are please to assist the AXBL in the advancement of tournament paintball in this area.

Aloha,
Harv
